Summer Saftey

This summer is already HOT HOT HOT!

The staff at Essex Place wants to make sure that everyone is taking the necessary steps to keep safe this summer.

1. Make sure you are wearing sunscreen. It is best if you put it on 15 to 20 minutes before getting out in the sun. Dermatologists recommend to put on at least 30spf and to reapply every 2 hours.

Here are some area's that sunscreen should be applied and most often times get forgot:
  • tops of the ears
  • back of the neck
  • the part in your hair
  • tops of the feet
ALWAYS ask for help if there is a part of your body that you cannot reach.

2. Take breaks from being in the sun. Find a shaded area or go inside to get some cool air conditioning.

3. Drink Up! Drinking water keeps you well hydrated. Even if you are not thirsty and you are out in the sun, always drink. Every time that you start to sweat, your body loses water. It is also a good idea to drink Gatorade to give your body some electrolytes.
HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE!
