Living away from home, going to college, will bring 
new experiences around every corner. Which means new responsibilities since well you will be making many of your own decisions. There are lots of things that can be reviewed. Here are some of my own that I have learned over the years of living on my own.
· Review your finances
· Decide how much you can afford to pay each month.
· Consider rent and the cost of utilities
· What neighborhood do you want to live in.
· Screen prospective areas by walking through them during the day and night to be sure you would be comfortable there.
· Decide if you are willing to share an apartment or a house. If you do, consider your lifestyle preference.
· Make appointments to see apartment of interest to you.
· Determine the amount of time it will take to get from your apartment/house to campus
· If you plan a trip to find housing, allow upto 2 to 4 days for the search.
I hope this few pointers will help you find the perfect home/apartment.
