The Annual KC Irish Fest

Want to have some fun this weekend and need a break from all the school “hustle and bustle”?  Head on down to Crown Center for KC’s Annual Irish Fest, September 2nd- 4th.  This is great fun for the whole family. There will be 7 stages featuring more than 30 bands, more than 20 heritage workshops, a children’s stage and a comedian.  Heritage; you think you’re the best knitter, baker, brewer or photographer?  Comedy; hope you like to laugh with comedians performing on stage. Food; there will be many vendors featuring all types of food and beverages.  Mass; don’t miss Kansas City’s largest outdoor Mass. Full Catholic Mass starts at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 5th.  Feis; an Irish dance competition. This competition takes place at the Westin Crown Center.  This once a year festival has everything for all ages; games, pumpkin patch, face painting, a parade featuring a newly crowned High King, Queen, Knight and Princess. This Royal Court will lead a fun procession around the square at Crown Center on Saturday and Sunday.  For additional information go http://www.kcirishfest.com/kids/kidsactivities/.  Hope to see you there!

Some new arrivals

  • **The Big Screen you're used to seeing at the Boulevard Stage will be even bigger this year. It's going to take over the background of the Boulevard Stage and hang like a curtain. The best part: we'll be able to use it during the day!
  • **Kids will love rolling around in the Human-Sized Inflatable Hamster Ball!
  • **The Kid's Theme this year is the "High Kings of Ireland"! Kids are encouraged to come dressed as a king or queen!
  • **The Park Stage has been moved further east into Washington Park to avoid any sound bleed with the Boulevard Stage!
  • **Contests this year are offering a Masters category in knitting and baking.
See you in your green,
Savannah
